Thread regarding Allstate Corp. layoffs

Cobra

I called the benefits center and I was told that the benefits management service still has not instituted the Federal Cobra coverage.
How is this possible?!

I was let go November last year with everyone else at Allstate after 30 years. I found another job and was laid off again in March (lucky me!!). Just saying, new employer is still trying to figure COBRA out as well. I was told to still pay premium for now until they figure it out and they will refund my premiums. Just thought I would let you know it is not only Allstate!!

I worked for another company but I too am waiting for relief from the American Rescue Plan Act.
I am actively enrolled in COBRA coverage and I should be getting my monthly premiums paid for from April 2021 to September 2021.
After getting continuous run-around from my ex-employer and their COBRA administrator, I filed a complaint with the US Department of Labor at
https://www.dol.gov/agencies/ebsa/about–ebsa/ask–a–question/ask–ebsa

From my understanding, Companies have until 5/31 to send out notices about offering someone COBRA, however they should not be charging premiums for current COBRA enrollees.

I'm hoping that Department of Labor can help me get the premium relief as spelled out in the American Rescue Plan Act.

The COBRA administrator my ex–employer is using is HealthEquity / Wageworks.

Their Better Business Bureau records are interesting.
