Thread regarding ExxonMobil Corp. layoffs

Disgruntled

"I was with EM for more than 20 years, originally from heritage Exxon, and was PIP'd last July. Over the years, I've collected a bunch of EM collectibles, awards, and other branded items (Jackets, T–shirts, caps, etc.). Right after I was let–go, I took everything that has EM logo to the dumpster, including my service pins and awards. That's how much I hated EM. I admit I still had quite a number of XOM stock upon my termination but I sold all of these eventually."

Sorry the aholes did that bs to you. They probably decided you were overpaid. New hires are not getting paid what they used to at xom and do not have to be nearly as smart to get the job as 10-20 years ago. When admins are recruiting and interviewing engineers it should raise a big red flag.

See what happens when you leave EM? You end up working at Goodwill 😂😂

No doubt this troll thought his post would make a good story, but clearly is a load of c#ap.

I am a firm believer in recycling, so took all my logo stuff to donate at Goodwill.

Still can't get over the fact that the donation attendee refused to accept my generous donation. Later on I found out the real reason from his "Manager."

Apparently, both of them were ex Exxon employees and now they have acquired much higher standards, after getting Pipped or pooped or whatever the buzzword happy geniuses refer to it as these days.

Op, it is hard to do, but you need to get EM outside of your head. Many still struggle with the same after years, but the past is over. Live for a bright future with no EM. Owe it to yourself and your family regardless of the circumstances.

Lotta really petty people on this site.
This thread is typical.
Possibly OP and all subsequent posts by the same petty person.

And it's all anonymous, right?

Employers have no obligation to keep folks employed; granted, they could have just handled things better and just had layoffs every year to reach desired #. In order to move forward, you need to leave all that in the past. Don't focus on the negative, be grateful for the opportunities you've had, the wonderful matching and pension . Not every American has it as good as those whom had the opportunity to work here. Shake off the negativity, it will hold you back in life. Best wishes

Poor performer relative to peers. Probably was just coasting it for awhile or made the wrong enemies with local management. Experienced employees like to have a mouth and opinion, etc. Sucks though, after 20+ years to get a 3 month "severance" is just rough.
