Thread regarding AT&T layoffs

Results?

Of course the numbers are "good" :

  • sacking people every year saves money, especially during the pandemic.
  • people are afraid of losing their job, this is good to make them work much more time and don't even question incompetence up the chain.
  • expectations (manipulated) are low, very low, anything is "good" compared to sh*t. Just show up and collect.
  • over complicated and unnecessary processes, senseless metrics, zero real career paths (go on and change roles before it gets bad).
  • culture of nepotism and promotion of those that will "challenge" just a little but no to much to upset the hierarchy, or the flatterers, pure BS.
  • innovation and vision, WTF is that!?
  • Stakeholders won't give a f about the company as long as they have return (every time highly questionable results)

There is no mass layoffs. In some places, AT&T is hiring.

Does no one else see the correlation of mass layoffs, cut benefits, or claims of restructure every time T needs a positive report to investors? It literally happens every time a poor report comes out due to their terrible management. They then scramble, and go public with flat out lies/fake numbers to give the impression "All is good"! Rinse, Cycle, repeat

Not to mention the fake number of HBOMAX subscribers they put out to look competitive.
