If I was laid off, can I submit an application for one of the available openings right now? I wasn't here for long before I was laid off so severance is not an issue. If you're wondering why I'd even want to come back, I don't have many available options right now and I'm grasping at straws.

There are rumors of a hiring freeze right now. That could change after the next earnings call, I suppose. There also is an effort to hire all new open positions in NC. I’d recommend you continue to apply everywhere you can. I would caution that coming back won’t guarantee you aren’t part of future layoffs. Best of luck to you and I hope you find something soon.
When you were laid off, what did they tell you about applying for openings? Since severance isn't an issue, you should determine first whether there's any preference for a previously employed person. It might be in your separation paperwork––then again, because it's Centene, probably not.
Go ahead and apply if you really need to, but don't be surprised if you never hear anything. You should be applying for as many jobs as possible, every day, and networking––there are in most areas local job groups and also use the resources through unemployment if there are any in your state.
Try applying at temp agency. Go ahead and try to apply back but I’m sure you can find a better opportunity with higher pay.
You must be really DESPERATE if you would even consider going back!!!
