Thread regarding Macy's Inc. layoffs

A social organization or a business?

We have enough money to hire outside speakers to have a one hour a day teams call for the week of understanding daily video conference that our store manager makes us watch every day but no money to fix our busted HR system. Are we a social organization or a business, it's getting hard to tell.

Exactly, @1xmn+1atjZgFu, that's a real irony. There’s a lot of irony at Macy’s.

It’s funny how they want employees to donate out of every paycheck so that they can get the tax break. No you the doner. Sc–m bag company!!!

Ridiculous! It's easy to tell everyone what they should donate when you are the top earner in the group.

Retired red badge here......M always wants to appear to be politically correct and offering diversity training to cover themselves. Years ago I had a store manager tell everyone at a manager's meeting that he expected us, as store leadership, to donate a minimum of $500. to kick off the United Way campaign. I am pretty sure back then NO managers were even close to earning 50K a year. We all HATED him for that. I complained to HR and he had to publicly walk back his comment to all of us within a few days.

I like how she told everyone to donate $20 to a charity or food bank which sounds great but telling employees who get paid $11 to donate isn’t appropriate. Also plugging 3 books and telling people to buy them is also extremely inappropriate. Oh and I love hearing peoples political views while I’m at work...... by far the most inappropriate thing I’ve views so far since the week of understanding started. Cheers

Since Macy’s got rid of all HR things have never been right .
It was the worst decision that could have been made taking the human out of Human Resources and now after a few years it is being felt by all.
Bad move Macy’s!!!
