Is anyone else hearing rumors, from good sources stating, that Belk will close maybe by October? Also, that there is talk of a Chapter 7 filing coming?

Our store keeps playing musical merchandise with constant floor moves. While it looks like there's a lot of merchandise at first glance, it's still pretty lean. And they appear to be hiring while continuing to cut everyone's hours. My daughter said it sounds like Belk is trying to make the in store shopping experience so cr–––y that people will just order online. Then they can close most stores and just do STH.
To 'True Shaft in GA,' I Haven't heard anything about Lauder leaving. I asked the Lauder AE and she said with Lancome leaving, it was going to be 'Lauder Nation' at Belk for the foreseeable future.
The only info I've received is from this site, our managers have said we are not closing.
We only have 4–5 associates working the store, full time and part time are only getting two days work per week.
Clothing merchandise is over stocked, having continuous sales,
I assume it was transported from other Belk stores. Looks like Estee Lauder, Lancome, and fragrances are on their way out, so were selling what's left.
Meanwhile, sales associates ard doing multiple work tasks, endure the wrath of angry customers who wait in long lines, while managers continue to receive their pay level, bonuses, and very few take the initiative to work a register to help.
All i can say is when i worked at Toys R Us this exact same thing happened. Low Staffing, scattershot Merchandise, Layoffs, a non transparant executive team, same thing and toys r us was gone within a year. a week before toyrs r us folded, the District Manager was telling us we were gonna get a raise LOL.. it's nothing but a house of cards ready to collapse.
If Belk files Chapter 7 that means they are closing and liquidating all assets.
It wouldn’t be a shock. This is as bad as retail can get. Way worse than wal mart, big lots, and target.
