Allstate was a very stressful environment for me until I started to separate a little more carefully the silly things that happen every day from the really important things that concern my job and future career. I’ve noticed that this is a problem with many colleagues, they fail to focus on the important things that concern them specifically because they are too focused on the side things that drain their energy.

If I step away for 10 minutes to potty, make a sandwich and log my kids back into zoom classes and check their homework I get a message asking if everything’s ok. Allstate makes us justify every single minute of the day working from home . Allstate thinks we’re stealing from them while worhing at home !
When I get up to use the bathroom my manager sends me a message on teams to ask why I am logged out of my phone. Is that one of the energy draining side things you are talking about.
