Thread regarding Allstate Corp. layoffs

Make sure you know what you’re doing

A coworker left three months ago for a new company and he couldn’t wait to say goodbye to this place so he didn’t even give two weeks’ notice. Well, now he realized that the new place is just as bad as here only now he’s also the newest addition which makes him extra vulnerable. So if you’re planning to leave, just make sure you vetted the company well before you take that leap.

I have worked for “worse” companies that ask you to do more with less (I know that’s hard to believe) than Allstate. However, Allstate takes the cake because they say one thing and do another. I.E. We care about employees...lays off tons of employees during pandemic. The difference in the other company was that they didn’t try to “pretty” up their BS up or create so much spin. Allstate doesn’t shoot people straight and sometimes it’s nice to have someone just lay it out there and own it. Allstate...what you did to living breathing humans is heartless...don’t act like you are better than the worst of corporate America. Instead of pitching “we had to change or we would become blockbuster” just say “we are a heartless, spineless, money hungry, out of touch, corporate, self centered, only care about the rich, and anti–American leadership team that thought we could leverage the pandemic to get ahead of some other companies on expenses”. It would be refreshing to hear you say what you actually mean. These goons will eventually move on or retire and until we get real leadership we will continue lose market share with “attractive returns on property and causality”. Personally, and for my own satisfaction, I send weekly emails to my state senator requesting them to investigate the Allstate pandemic layoffs and shifting work overseas. It won’t get anywhere, but my pipe dream is TW and GS testifying on c–span with all the shareholders fumbling on the “t–t–t–t transformative g–g–g–g–growth p–p–p–plan”.

Hey moe ron, there's no conspiracy. I bet you're the kind of angry person who can't stand to see opinions that don't feed your preconceived notions. Get a life get back to whining at whatever company you land with

Agree with previous post, which company did your coworker go to? I just don't believe you are telling the truth as there is no other company in this industry that is as bad as Allstate. I think you are just fear mongering. EVERYONE I know who was laid off from this hole found new jobs making more money and better benefits The only ones who haven't are the ones who are taking advantage of the extra unemployment benefits being provided right now to take care of their new born children. but they will find something when their benefits run out.

Don't be shy, drop the name of the other company so we don't repeat their mistake.

TBH, if you work in an "at will" state then your employer can fire you at their will and you better believe I'll quit at my will.

This is precisely why you give notice, even if you don't plan on returning... Never know what the future holds.

There seems to be an uptick in posts trying to scare people into not leaving here lately.

HI CORPORATE!

Maybe if you focused on improving your workplace culture instead of trying to play psyops online your employees would stop leaving faster than you can hire and train them (and telling their friends and families what you did and cancelling their Allstate policies when they go)
