Thread regarding Xerox Corp. layoffs

How do you deal with the workload?

There is more and more work because we need to do what until recently was done by a lot more people. When the work started to pile up, at first I somehow managed to get everything done. I thought it was just a phase that would pass quickly and the motivation was still there. But no.
There is more and more work to be done and I am finding it increasingly difficult to organize my work schedule.

Don’t hold your breath expecting the incompetent workers to be let go ...I’ve seen to many good workers let go while the bad apples seemed to survive..Nepotism, cronyism and affirmative quotas are alive in Mother Xerox.

I worked after 6 pm always and worked about 10 to 12 hours daily so I can do to the job of 3 people and then take on the other work that my incopetent coworkers didn't know how to do. Once OT was eliminated, I worked only until my shift ended but then was confronted about why work wasn't getting completed on time! Oh, and thoser 2 coworkers who passed on work to me, are STILL with X while I got laid off so it iS about pure favoritism here and I can't wait until it's discovered how incomptent they are and are shown the door.

Do what the offshore providers do: fail to deliver but try to get more work added to your plate.

Get to it when you get to it. People can wait.

Whatever you do, don’t work after 5pm for free. If they offer OT, take it. But likely they won’t. If you work extra hours for free, management will see that you’re handling the extra workload and then will figure you can handle more – so more layoffs. It’s a test to see how far they can push you until you break. The sad part is our paying customers get caught in the middle. Just keep in mind customer and employee satisfaction no longer matter at Xerox. The suits determined that cost money which impacts their bonuses.

I stop working after 5, and whatever is pending rolls over to next morning. Only so much one can do in a work shift, then it's personal/family time. I'm not stressing about it anymore. My health and family are to important.

Don't get it all done. Let it pile up. Why should they find a replacement if you can do it all on your own. I did it. And they finally hired a reply.
