I have a question: how many of you believe working at Centene is going to become less stressful any time soon? I mean, it was never a walk in the park but the latest layoffs have really pushed things to a whole new level. I’m honestly not sure how much longer I’ll be able to take this.

The stress levels have gotten worse. If your not part of the in-crowd, you are treated like garbage. Managers belittle employees and when you are all n trouble, you are yelled at like your an animal. No wonder there is a huge turnover
There is no chance it will get less stressful or the work environment will improve.
The layoff cycles will continue. They will regularly get rid of older, higher salary employees and replace them with cheaper employees. They will also close down locations where they can, and get rid of everyone there at once.
The goal of this is not to form a well run company that can prosper years into the future; it's to cut costs any way they can, improve the financial bottom line in the short term, and limp along until they can sell out to a bigger fish.
This cycle will repeat until Centene is bought by a bigger company, at which point stress levels will increase because the only companies big enough to buy Centene don't care one bit about their employees either.
It is getting worse by the minute, no employee training for new systems to learn how to do their job, no updates on changes, unreliable IT & system issues are happening, pretty much everything sucks around here. Supervisors harassing employees without providing training, pushing for un–realistic goals, deceptive practices, a very unethical, corrupt and incompetent people are in charge and it is affecting the most vulnerable employees in the company, the ones we do not have a voice! Reports are deceptive, everything is due to the merge, this was done without a plan and very well plan to push employees to resign because is cheaper for the company then layoffs. The company is going to the gutter, management, supervisors and of course MFN, they do not care, they care only about their high salaries and bonus! People are either avoiding the company or leaving because harassment, toxic environment. Time to start looking to leave this horror company from hell. A new campus is opening in NC, and this is the way to clean house in Tampa, and all other locations to save money.
I bet my supervisor is one of the three supervisors that is letting him along with other favorites get away with just about anything, I work from home, but my sup is always in the building @ REN 4 Tampa center, so you are not alone, I share your pain , I also k––l myself taking what seems like millions of calls a day. I am looking for another job, but I seriously hope they lay me off. MFN doesn't want people working from home after the offices truly open back up to everyone right? I hope he closes Tampa down completely , when the new NC building opens. so that all the sups , leads, and everyone in upper management who is contributing to the toxic lazy environment will get theirs in the end.
It wont be less stressful. Management has there favorites and a prime example is my co–worker. In the REN 4 Tampa center today first floor. I was busting out making calls until my voice was raspy and the coworker two cubicle from me me did nothing. This trend has been going on for a year. His supervisor made a joke while passing by him saying "what are doing" being funny and laughing. What he was doing was nothing. There are 3 other supervisors there who is in cahoot with this employee and won't say or do anything to reprimand him. I have even told my own supervisor who is in the building and she did nothing. Its so bad that the manager and director know about this individual and is letting him get away with everything but mu–––r.
As part of the last layoff, being cut for age + salary, which I earned ten times over during the decade working for this company, I finally feel my sanity / life returning to me. Right up until they let me go, I was working nights, weekends, holidays and during PTO to make up for the horrid "leaders" in my former department. The health plans are unhappy, other departments that ours used to work with are unhappy and the teams have nobody to ask difficult questions to. I feel sorry for those left to deal with that imminent implosion.
I feel it’s only downhill from here. The company reputation is bad. People are either avoiding the company or leaving because of the experience. Good luck and start looking for a way out.
