Thread regarding Allstate Corp. layoffs

Great job Allstate claims!

Too many Allstate Clients to count that are being treated in this manner! Amazing that TW can’t exactly put his finger on the slip in retention!

This Sun–Times story is heartbreaking. I am truly sad for them. But a house can’t left unoccupied for a year without problems arising. Good lesson to hire a property manager when having an extended absence, even when the absence is unexpected. Another option would have been travel insurance that covers medical evacuation, which could have gotten them home in comfort, even during the pandemic. Or, an internet–connected water leak sensor that can alert to a problem. There are options, when property is being left unoccupied for weeks or months. I truly feel for them, but I don’t understand how leaving one’s house empty for a year should lead to a $250k payout.

Just to be clear. Allstate pays IAs more than EAs yet they won’t write any business. EAs make 9/9 with variable comp for new business and IAs make 15/15. EAs aren’t overpaid...EAs and claims have paid for all the pet projects of TW. Agent origination is expensive but the EA model is still cheaper than the IA model. Yes there is more “unwanted support” on the EA side but that is corporate driven agenda which they weigh on themselves. To be clear, “unwanted support” has nothing to do with the RMBC/ASIC/tech.

Hey genius–––Claims held this company together for many years while TW, the BOD, and senior leadership failed to compete effectively in either the Direct or IA channels. Agents were overpaid and generously rewarded with trips that did not generate company growth. Every strategy failed and cost company Billions of $ in write–downs, including Esurance and Life/Annuity business. Claims led the cost reductions from 2016 to present under Shapiro's leadership and now influence. Now almost 5 years to the day of GS' arrival, Claims is in trouble. There are more than 800 positions now posted reflecting the incompetent leadership that failed to anticipate increased turnover, increased driving, and poorly developed Plan initiatives that did not deliver their efficiency benefits.

Imagine if the news media learned about how Allstate employees are being treated . They can’t take care of their customers and they expect us to take care of the policyholders lol. The Good hands people .
