A friend who works at another store recently complained that she has a lot of work to do and works hard. I don't know if she is exaggerating or if there is so much difference between the store where I work and the one she is at, since there is very little to do at my store. I wish there was a lot of work, it’s a much better feeling than this one where I dread every moment that they will tell me the store is closing.

It's awful. I'm exhausted, everything is piling up, the place looks like shlt and our manager sits in her office on the phone. We have a fraction of the regulars back and I don't see how we can keep going.
Every day I prepare to get the bad news.
BN wanted part timers to just man the stores. I’d say they got what they wanted.
PS: the customers noticed the level of customer service was no longer a BN priority.
Can’t get rid of dedicated knowledgeable employees, replace them with uninvested part timers and maintain premier customer service you used to be known for.
Busting our buts where I work, decent amount of staff most are untrained for some of the more specialized stuff, zoning, shelving newsstand or music and attendance is poor so merch is always getting backed up leaving the few experienced employees with the bulk of the work. It’s been tough.

There’s lots of “busy” work to keep everything up for the few customers that actually do come in !
