Thread regarding Seagate Technology Inc. layoffs

An Old-Timer Weighs In

Me: worked at NRM > 20 yrs. You: who the fukc knows. So listen up, cuz I know stuff.

Hammer: bad idea. Way overdue. It won't work. Think about it... you can't put a hammer in a disc drive. It's too big and won't fit. Hammer s are like a foot long.

Layoffs: good idea, but mgmt started too late. If you lay off ALL the engineers, that's the only way to guarantee no engineering mistakes, which is what is bringin' this company down. Just lay 'em all off, starting now.

Pineapple juice: put it in the cafeteria, productivity done go way up. You'll see.

That's my dos centivos.

Hammer will not work as a read write system. however, it may work as like CDRom. meaning archival. write once only.

I agree that hammer will not work. STX has too much dreamer at the director and above, mostly yesman and looking for credit in short time. very little real achiever.

Most (insert group ID) are bad and people who are (insert group ID) know better and should run it all. Group ID = age, gender, race, religion. That’s what’s wrong with the world is too many people who think and say this cr–p.

I don’t understand what it is with humans. When in your twilight years, be happy, be proud, be kind and positive. Be thankful for the good life and opportunities, wish the future well. Instead, most long timers are negative, grumpy and act like losers. Something about the old timer engineers in Seagate. Guess it comes from their work being relegated as obsolete and themselves as dinosaurs.
