Thread regarding Allstate Corp. layoffs

The management knows it can do whatever it wants

I keep hoping the management will finally see some consequences for their st—d decisions with so many people gone through layoffs and attrition and not enough people left to do the actual work. But despite below market compensation, barely any benefits, and horrible reputation, people still keep joining. I guess the management knows it can do whatever it wants because there are always people who're desperate enough to ignore all of that just to get a job, any job.

For what it's worth the actual number laid off totalled right around 6,000. 3,800 was fake news and a lie from the company. The regional facing employees alone was over 3,000 just counting them.

Basically the poster below has the same mentality as Amazon’s management. Be lucky you get to be our slave. This is corporate America taking advantage during a pandemic . Either we conform and work double the workload and keep our mouths shut or third world workers in India will gladly do the work for $5 an hour. Take it or leave it is managements new motto . Hey? Because they know we have mortgages , kids, car payments so they’re going to bend us over a barrel to do what they want. They laid off 3,800 the day after Thanksgiving and they’ll do it again to save $1.00 again. They know we’re understaffed and morale sucks .

People keep joining because they are grateful to have a job, unlike many on this site. You're welcome to move on to a different company and free up a spot for someone looking for work.

Besides, I don't know where you've been looking, but compared to the average company in the Chicago area, aside from the health insurance being pretty poor, the benefits offered by Allstate are at or above average.
