I left about three years ago because bullying and intimidation were getting completely out of hand. Considering that HR was no help whatsoever, I decided to pack my bags and leave. I was lucky, the new job I found might have paid a bit less but the work environment was ten times better. I do still feel bad for the folks who stayed behind, because things were really getting bad. Is there any chance it's better now?

Yes Pols has bullies in place. Funny all these negative responses to comments, mgmt must review this board. Anyone with a brain knows mgmt is poor at best.
Agree. Pearson HR is a tragedy - specifically in POLS. HR are only advocates for employees with whom they have personal relationships - regardless of performance. And as a leader, there is no support to manage out individuals who have no desire or no ability to perform to expectations so our teams can achieve desired results and save the company from going down the toilet. Are they not supposed to enable the strategy versus working against it??
HR 100% are the bullies.
Never has there been a group, who should be advocates for the employee—yet are THE absolute worst advocate for employees and put the company above the person.
Seriously, HR at most companies is a joke. HR at Pearson is a tragedy.
HR are the bullies.
It is rampant in POLS. Senior leadership has been bad for years. We are losing good people because of poor leadership and HR is an absolute JOKE in this company. Cant help with anything but event planning. Its sad that a company that has been around for 175+ years is this bad. I hope Andy Bird coming in will make positive changes but I'm not holding my breath.
HR at Pearson is a joke — 100%. KRip is a terribly rude, under qualified excuse for an HR leader.
Bullying or maybe intimidation is a better way to describe it is so rampant at POLS where a former interim Managing Director with an alphabet name has created the most toxic workplace in my 3 1/2 years at the Company. Hopefully exec management can see that he’s the worst kind of leader (more like a micromanager) that plays favorites and treats those that aren’t in his special circle like garbage. He’s gotten away with being a bad leader and no one calls him out.
Remember at a San Diego NSM (2017 and/or 18?) when the senior sales manager told people to be a badass? Well, the bullying you speak of was the end result IMO leading to their demise and morale problems. Hoped it was better with some changes but not yet, it seems.
Bullying is still rampant - with HR and senior leaders continuing to be some of the worst offenders. Consider yourself lucky for making the change when you did. I know myself and many of my colleagues are looking for ways out, but there are tons of people looking right now bc of COVID layoffs. It’s unbelievable how toxic Pearson is when the mission is such a noble one.
are insecure and useless Vacuous V and Corvette C still trying to manage by intimidation?
both had zero technical chops and were complete frauds
I've never experienced or seen bullying at Pearson. Sorry, you had to go through that.
