How long will ConocoPhillips continue to carry so many employees and support so many campuses in Lower 48? Why is Bartlesville still clinging on? Why haven’t we started shutting down at least one of the many offices West Texas. First quarter came and went, where is the synergies from the acquisition/merger? Are we going to operate as two companies? It looks like we tripled our management and didn’t double our workers in Permian. When is this going to get worked out? We know that big is slow we also know that slow is dead!

Where are the acquisition synergies? When are we going to get to transfer out of Bartlesville? We are not getting much information in Bartlesville, I hope other campuses are getting more than we are!
Who wants to work in Bartlesville? NO ONE! Why are we keeping offices open in Bartlesville? One more synergy from our recent acquisition should be shutting down all duplicate ConocoPhillips operations in Bartlesville and begin process moving the rest to other locations within ConocoPhillips locations closer to field and corporate operations.
Assets come and assets go, that’s our business. Bartlesville is no different. What’s the attachment when it’s life cycle is finished?
When’s the next big layoff? When is the lease up on both houston towers? Same answer to both questions. Only need one building.
COP owns Bartlesville and will never find a buyer. You would need to be a bit pixelated to think they will give it up.
We have enough buildings in Midland/Odessa to provide offices for enough people to do all corporate and field operations that aren’t done in Houston. Why keep Bartlesville? No one wants to go to Bartlesville and they pay state income tax In Oklahoma!
We don’t own the buildings in Houston so that’s easy. We gave up our beautiful campus to “downsize” in anticipation of the company’s retirement.
Soon the two fancy buildings in houston won’t be needed either!
And are the 2 big fancy office buildings in Midland still needed? After all the VSP people left and then all the layoffs how many people can actually be left to fill those buildings.
Bartlesville is a mystery but looks like it is gradually losing its charm!! Management is starting to see through the smoke and realize how much it is costing to placate a few people.
Just a building we write them off all the time. We shut down their R&D scam, shut down shuttle and airport maintenance scam, now its time to shut down the office scam and let Phillips take care of their own expenses.
Who would you sell that 15 floor office building to in Bartlesville? (actually 14 floors plus the top secret floor).
You could take the City employees, County Employees, all the Police and Sheriff's department employees and only fill 25% of the building.
It would be a huge write down.
Why do you think shutting down Bartlesville would save your job ? Almost all jobs can be outsourced. That includes Houston jobs.
Even if Bartlesville operation were shut down ,they would just offer the employees jobs in Houston or outsource .Shutting down Bartlesville would have no impact on layoffs.
If you live in Bartlesville and have been with the company 20 years and are making 50k annually would not be as high of a target of someone living in Houston and has been with the company for 20 years and is making $100k. It’s all about money not where you live.
Good questions! Are we busier that we need so many more employees than our competition? No one knows why we continue to keep Bartlesville. One of the most expensive things said in our industry is “This is the way we have always done it!”. Synergies from acquisition? Do any of us believe that this will happen? We will compete for what is left and then be forced to share. No rewards in sight!
