Thread regarding IBM layoffs

Nomen est omen?

What do you think is Kyndryl ("kyn", kinship + "dryl", allusion to new growth) an appropriate new name for NewCo, if we take the name as a sign?
Is there any “new growth” to be expected or is it just a legal way to get rid of 90,000 people in a very simple way? I don't think there's much of a dilemma.

Always thought this spin-off was a way for IBM to avoid getting incredibly bad press. It’s either around 90,000 or 190,000 “offer letters” expected to be given out to IBMers to move to Kyndryl. I’m currently waiting on one as we speak and am pi---d. Yep, it’s looking just like a tactic to avoid headlines of incredibly massive layoffs. Such nonsense.

Now the joke is encapsulated in a cartoon:

That's an over-intellectualization as it simply means that a s s c l o w n was already taken

Too fu—g funny...give me the Kyndryl!!!!....and sad at the same time. A once GREAT company, most admired for years, is now despised by its employees.

Likely not. So many backlog write offs in GTS. Loads of over attaining of signings but the revenue just isn’t there.

Is the backlog even real?

Contracts don’t end when they get traded The contract has to be fulfilled as written by the company that absorbs GTS’s work

If an entity has an existing contract with IBM that ends moving to Kyndryl, is that a breach of contract from IBM?

Now this needs to be said with an English London accent, but I think the name new name for NewCo sounds a bit like a workman with a new apprentice -
"Na mate, not the electric screwdriver, give me the f'Kyndryl !"
