Anyone know or hear anything about any more Michigan layoffs. Specifically for Meridian/ WellCare legacy employees. They just let 3000 go in March and we are being thrown around, doing more work with no pay increase, all getting burnt out. I have a new manager that doesnt know what I do and it's been 2 weeks and still havent talked to her. We are supposed to be learning the TruCare system in May. Do you think thats a sign we aren't getting laid off? No one knows anything, we log on each day blind and unhappy wondering what's going on. No one tells us anything.

The same with Legacy Wellcare, new care coordinators, program coordinators. Childish management. Shared services seems to be growing. I am tired of doing the same old same old, no growth if you are not a fav.
I think it all depends on what is reported in the Q1 meeting on April 27. It also doesn’t sit well with me to see that new care coordinators are being hired in every 2 weeks, kind of tells me that this burning out and no growth opportunities will be the new norm for at least the Meridian subsidiary of centene. Leadership is dealing with notifications of resignation from top performers and not doing anything to try to keep them.
Sorry, they laid off 3000 people in February with their last day being in March.
They did NOT layoff 3000 people in March, they are laying off in rounds, February was the last OF MORE rounds. So don’t get comfortable!
Get out while you can. I worked for WellCare for over a decade - when you get laid off, they don’t care and it’s insulting. Do yourself a huge favor, start looking for a company that will truly value you.
Great advise!
Best thing you can do is just try to find another job. Even if someone tells you your job at Centene is secure, it doesn't mean anything.
If you do manage to survive there for the time being without being laid off there's two things to remember:
- They could very well change their mind at some point and lay you off then.
- It's going to be a miserable work environment which leads to a terrible work experience.
Start looking for another job now. Collect this paycheck to keep you going in the meantime, but start looking for something better.
The best time to find a job is when you already have one.
