According to the press release, "Kyndryl evokes the spirit of true partnership and growth," said Martin Schroeter, Chief Executive Officer of Kyndryl, and I can't even.

Kyndryl Kardashian approves the new name
If you have to explain what the name means, it's already too late.
If an idiotically named corporation moves to New York City....and there's no one there to hear them, does the name still sound st—d?
Kyndryl sounds like some failed dr-g name... what is that going to cure?
What a terrible name and what a waste of money paying someone to come up with this terrible name. Oh well, that’s how things roll around here. Everything is done by vendors and the left hand does not know what the right hand is doing.
Clearly, as—n was already taken.
k- 'n' Drill
I bet the IBM GTS employees could have come up with plenty of GREAT possible names for NewCo. I mean totally Great names that would be exciting and powerful. Instead, we get a total, awful DUD - Kyndryl. WTH!
Many GTS employees are happy with Spin-off , yes this is true. IBM has no future so good luck with useless AI and old fashion Cloud products.
My observation is that many GTS employees are happy with spin-off as GTS will be able to manage their own budget and future , also GTS employees are quite experienced. But what I can see is that non-GTS people who will stay in IBM is making too many negative comments about Kyndryl, guys you need to focus on your future in IBM as many of you will not be an IBMer in next 1-2 years. Looks that TSS and GBS will be sold out soon. Good luck!
Perhaps it's an acronym? Let your mind wander
Kyndyl evokes a spirit? Based on what?

Apple was a good name because they were trying to help people relate to computers for the first time. A cute name made the computer less intimidating. Kyndryl is just a random nonsense word that conveys nothing.
I wonder if they let Watson choose the name?
It’s not about the name (thats just marketing), but rather about customer perception, and even more importantly about PRICE. Remember this is a body shop and all body shops expect to “take costs out of the contract even before the ink is dry” Kyndryl is just an eye catcher. You most likely will remember that name vs “Newco”. The real issue IBM faces on spinning Kyndryl out is customer perception. If they over stuff the spin-off (say going to a head count in excess of 90k) they will have to remove costs from any contract signed immediately. That would lead to Kyndryl being perceived via their customers as not being committed to the end users success. Look at GTS employees and their continued downsizing. End users see that, and come to the same conclusion, thus GTS is perceived as not delivering value due to GTS employees being worried about downsizing. It’s a constant battle all body shops face and is not unique to IBM, ALTHOUGH IBM seems to understand this the least of any body shop and is usually last in line to address these issues. IBM has an incredibly poor track record when it comes to cost take out. Just use the TDSP as your example. Can anyone in GTS say that IBM treated them fairly when it comes to that? I could go on, but you get the point. It’s all about how the parent company handles cost take out, and your reputation (via employee, customer, and Wallstreet) rides on that. To date IBM has failed in this dept, and installing the same failed management team doesn’t bode well for how they will handle this into the future.
Is Lynyrd Skynyrd is scheduled to play at the grand opening?
There's nothing quite so soothing for those pesky hemorrhoids, as a nice blob of Kyndryl cream, massaged in twice daily.
I like the Kindergarten/Benadryl suggestion.
It could also be 'Kin' as in the Scottish word for Family, and 'drill' as in permanent fire drills when the numbers don't hit expectation.
Kyndryl - kind of a dreadful h–l
A legal way to get rid of 90,000 souls without raising a red flag.
Make em more miserable ( low pay, no benefits, yeah squeeze their ba–s till there is no juice left) and they leave on their own.
The name and color clearly gives it away.
It’s almost as bad as Mr. Cooper, formerly known as Nationstar, the mortgage company
Honestly, someone should be fired for coming up with this bad of a name. So many IBMers have entrusted their future to the company, and are very loyal to their clients and the firm. This was a pivotal moment for NewCo and its employees. Unfortunately, a lost opportunity.
Mate has a point... Computer company named after a fruit. No ones is saying how d–b Apple name is.
Everyone’s going to have to record a stand and deliver video explaining how the name was created and what it means. If you pass you’ll earn a kyndryl badge.
No vowels. The logo is weird. It's a photo, not a normal logo.

They were trying to compete with Lord of the Rings for the biggest box office hit but realized their managers never read the books and were marketing futures.
OMG .. I was sure this was a hoax. Someone's kind of April Fool's joke.
But then I googled it and it's real!

This is SO embarrassing for the soon to be ex-IBMers to have to tell people where they work now. Oh boy - I can't imagine how I could utter that name when someone asks "Where do you work?"
Deja Vu...

Kyndryl, the all-in one lubricant and pain medication made from 100% pure snake oil.
Step 1, bend over and apply as lubricant.
Step 2, wait for IBM to do it's usual thing.
Step 3, ingest 1 teaspoon per hour to soothe any resulting aches.
WARNING: Be sure to use proper hygiene during step 1 before attempting step 3.
There have been many spinoffs with weak names. This easily THE WORST, DUMBEST, MOST RIDICULOUS, WEAKEST NAME in the history of American business. OMG, the naming committee must have had a combined IQ of 20. Instead of launching with a great and powerful name, GTS is set adrift as a laughingstock.
Is this a joke ?
IBM executives can’t even pick a name...ID--TS!!!
Kyndryl need to get rid of all IBM's useless tools ,process as well as toxic culture, hope they are working on it and finally select strong cloud partners AWS or Azure , but definitely not IBM please.
Hey listen to me carefully , how your reaction would be if management decided to use one of the fruits as company name ? banana , lemon, grape sounds ugly but you all respect APPLE , right ? so do not spend too much time on naming.GTS is free finally and I am happy for them, I am sure they will do better as independent company ..and good luck to IBM as IBM need luck with current strategy and management they have. As former IBMer I am more optimistic for Kyndryl , but for IBM...ehmmm.Nope , I am sorry IBM.
Kyndryl sounds interesting but I would have preferred Clymadia or Feckabeckalorum
I take Kyndryl for ED.
Makes me think of a blend of Kinetics and Benadryl...
But I'm sure its a very woke name...
Good luck.
Kyndryl sounds still better than IBM , as Kyndryl employee we see future at least and good luck for the ones stay ( for now ) with IBM.
Unbelievably st—d. I read in a Slack channel that they’re doing this rebrand to attract younger employees. Good luck with that.
I heard “Enzyte” was available. Why didn’t they snag that? “Meet Bob....”. https://youtu.be/cR5fYm4Pcdc
Sounds like a desease! I’m being extremely objective here. It’s a horrible name.
