Thread regarding ExxonMobil Corp. layoffs

Management thinks we are id--ts (90% PIP survival)

Management is really pouring generous cups of the koolaide. Their 90% survived the PIP last year charade is really pi----g me off. I’d like to know the true metric of how many who were NSI last year are still employed today.

Of course 90% survived last years PIP for this that didn’t take the PIL option because sometime in September all the pressure to fail employees went away! I wonder why...oh that’s right a giant layoff was coming and this was an easy way to ensure you had more people for the bottom!

I know of 4 individuals that passed their PIP’s and all were laid off. So Sure 90% passed so they could become cannon fodder for the layoff.

Yup, they surely think people are id--ts. Why? Because we the people continue to be there slaves for the paycheck. As long as we are ready and willing to be slaves for a paycheck the mgmt. will continue to think of lowly and continue to treat us they always have. Nothing will change until all of us rise at once globally against the mgmt.

I saw there was another post about this but it appears it got taken down? Not sure why. Anyway, i also saw that study and am interested in seeing the underlying data. Was it shared with you? I would have expected it to be in the 80-90% range so i was surprised to see it was only 50%

Studies show that 50% of XOM managers enjoy getting pegged at least once a week

The 90% pass figure is just sand in the eyes. The meaningful number is how many of those 8% put in NSI last year were still with the company on November 1, 2020. Hard to tell exactly, because of course it’s all secret, but most likely 5-6% lost their jobs as a direct result of the 2020 MLRP (among others, remember there were quite a few REs who would never consider taking the PIP). A high percentage of people passing the PIP was required on paper to deflect accusations of veiled layoff (unethical) and especially age discrimination (outright illegal).
Virtually all of the “90% PIP survivors” lost their job in the layoff, just a few months later, but the management claims that this was an “entirely different process” that has “nothing to do with the NSI/PIP”, as if the layoff was done by an entirely different company ! Again and again, EM’s way of doing things is to add insult to injury. They say they hire the best and brightest and then ask them to believe the most absurd and outrageous things.

Of course management thinks poorly of the general population. They are ranked higher, after all!

We all know how it irks. Managers give the heads up as to if they can survive. Many get two months into OIP then quit.

Technically they are right. They said 90% PIP not NSI. 90% PIP survived, which is beyond anyone’s expectations. Those who were NSI either took PIP, PIL or were asked to leave. That breakdown is not available right now

Well, it’s 90% of those who elected to do the 3 month PIP program. How many, like myself, just took the PIL option rather than mess with the PIP ?
