Thread regarding Allstate Corp. layoffs

I got no training whatsoever?

I think this is the only company where your manager doesn't provide any training for new employees. I started a couple of months ago and whatever question I asked my manager he directed me towards some older coworkers who were also not eager to provide me with any answers. All and all I've been pretty much on my own this time. How does the company expect to produce quality workers with such uninterested managers and no concrete training?

Challenge your manager !!! Ask him or her to actually DO what they expect. Ask them to demonstrate the proper way AND production they expect. Tell them you’ll match whatever they can do.

That is because automation, AI, and Patels reading off scripts is the flavor of the day and it is cheap. The sooner that we all understand that it is quantity over quality with Tom, Glenn, and the rest of our untalented home office leadership team the better in their eyes.

Lol, I’ve been here 7 years and still occasionally find things about our systems and processes I didn’t know, everything about this organization is so backwards and convoluted

Yeah,I came over from USAA 2 years ago sadly where trainers and training classes were the priority and here I keep getting referred to job aid templates to answer my questions about processes in 15 different states. The customer vice here is garbage as we have to ask customers to drive to shops and towyards to take more photos of car damages for us ! Unbelievable! I spend all day apologizing for 2-3 week delays on claims handling .

Same.... zero training just turned you loose to run markets. I’ve never seen anything like it.

Join the club. I've been given claims for states I never worked before, and was essentially told to "figure it out".

Welcome to Allstate. Been this way for years. It’s a sick culture they created. Had I been wiser 5 years ago I would never have accepted the job. There were plenty of warning signs. This is yours. Look for another job and bail out like everyone else who is young enough is doing. These lifer managers will never quit. They are waiting for layoff and severance. The company can’t change with them warming chairs and doing nothing. I have an opportunity I’m waiting to hear next week if I got. Then it’s beh bye.

Allstate has a ton of layers of managers that need to get let go.

Most managers and division managers have zero clue or ability to do the jobs they are over. They are just there to point their filthy fingers and criticize what they have no idea about. Count occurrences, sit in pointless meetings, and act like they give and know sh–. Zero purpose to most of these people and grossly overpaid for the little worth they provide the company. I'd love to see one of these bags of ding even try to handle an upset and irate customer or agent. They would be crying and stuttering within seconds.
