Thread regarding ExxonMobil Corp. layoffs

GBC's in FREEFALL

As if it could not get any worse, many GSC locations have the highest attrition EVER. In Brazil, the rates are 2 PER DAY (at least for a while), meaning we cannot possibly backfill these people in a normal scenario, let alone an 8% NSI. Argentina is also the same. With the reduction in benefits and pay for these people, plus the economic environment, they are actually losing money by staying with XOM! Its better to walk away than keep working at these locations. Its so bad in Argentina, they are resorting to LinkedIn job posts to try and fill positions.

Interestingly enough, most of the GSC leadership doesn't care as they are less than 6 years away from retirement and have an "MSP or bust" strategy. Wont matter to them...they just have to say "yes sir" until they retire.

If you're less than 20 years w the company, in GSC, not NRE and less than 26 CL - you better get our now. CL26-28 better get ready for the next 2-3 years of brutal ranking. Pray for $70 oil.

For Prague GBC the attrition rate is very high!
Morale is at the lowest possible level and management is uncapable of doing a thing because they were promoted not on the quality of their work but on being excellent secretaries.
Overall we are trying to leave asap.

All the id--ts at the top can think of is to rename the service model from BSC to GBC to make it look like they are doing something in the eyes of shareholders.

There are no more BSC, they were renamed to GBC.

Also, no mention of the original Moncton gbc? How are things there in Canada?

What is a GBC? I know what a BSC is and a TSC is - and I even know what a MSP is, but never heard of a GBC.

Bengaluru - leaving because of poor leadership. Have no stand out individual personality, are all very orthodox corporate puppets. Also the performance rating system is what many people were not exposed to earlier, now the truth is unveiling itself.

Still getting expats sent here, great business sense

Are people in Bangalore leaving because of local market opportunities (natural attrition) or because of local leadership issues?

@epw+1aiJkPcy extreme inflation of the local currency and the company not appropriately adjusting for it

@sdu - except the current “big guy” is the worst kind of corporate Democratic: pander to the poor and disenfranchised, but serve their corporate masters.

Buenos Aires, Curitiba, Bengaluru, Bangkok, Kuala Lumpur, Singapore, and Budapest, do you all want to chime in and tell your stories? If so, this is the chance. How do you all say "WeAreExxonMobil" in your own languages?
