I haven't had anything to work on for a while. I manage to finish everything in a very short time and recently I thought I would definitely get laid off. I was surprised when I wasn’t. Of course, that doesn't mean I'm safe and I'm afraid they'll soon tell me that I am not needed anymore. Does anyone else have a similar situation, that they have significantly less work to do than before?

When I read this in April I was like “no completely opposite”. However recently, my team and others were updated that half of our work was going to another team. The half we kept is being double worked by people overseas. It’s obvious what’s going to be happening very very soon. The supervisor is also jumping teams effective this summer sometime.
I can’t say the same thing. My teams are very over burdened and have been asked to do more than what would allow work life balance. What is worrying is rumblings of layoffs and early retirement offers. There’s been so much pressure to lower labor costs, from hiring freezes, to cancellation of merit, raises and promotions. How far are they going to go? We’re already well past in unsustainability.
I wish this was my life. They give us unrealistic expectations. I basically work 65 hours a week and am suppose to only work 40 but I’m salary and they say sometimes overtime is needed and part of our salary. The stress is so high because there is no value or respect on the work we do. Upper leadership have no clue and are so disconnected from the work they make decisions that make things worse not better. Leaders of clinical operations don’t even have any clinical background. You get a job based on who you know not who is best fit.
