Thread regarding Centene Corp. layoffs

Where are you finding jobs - post layoff - in Missouri?

I am having a difficult time finding a suitable job in Missouri or remotely post layoff. For those that have found a full time position paying a decent wage congratulations ! Did you have really good contacts that helped you get hired? I have so much experience in health insurance, but feel my age is getting my applications kicked out and / or when they ask a minimum salary but won't let you indicate "negotiable" (they want a dollar amount). As a note, I am not listing high salary amounts. Any suggestions? The outsourcing company they hook you up with after being laid off was useless. I can't even get an interview.......and my layoff was due to an evil group of "leaders" in our department, not my work or knowledge. I'm feeling defeated and it's only been a month.

I am of that "certain age" and have gotten some reject emails from my job applications, but this week, have a few remote job apps out that actually got me emails letting me know I was under consideration. They may end up rejecting those too, but I'm hoping so badly one of them gives me a chance to prove Centene had marbles for brains when they laid me off.....

Hard in California too if you are of a certain age!

Post ID: @1nky+1ahMIGxW I've applied to Cigna, Molina and UHC. Most of the jobs I applied for got reject emails within a day of applying. I'm thinking they do what Centene does and list open jobs like they are really open, but in reality they were posted for a specific person to apply to who already has the job in the bag......I have a few applications in that didn't get kicked back yet, but I'm very concerned. Missouri lost most of it's insurance companies many years ago, or they merged. Very few left to apply to.

I am also in Missouri coming across the same issue. The only interviews that I've had were still within Centene, and those were a complete joke. I dealt with mistreatment by leaders, and could not take it anymore. I went to HR and yep, laid off. I feel the people that are in hiring positions are saving their friends and family right now. Others, its about Networking or luck. Sad to say that age and wages also plays a great part of things. Its a scary feeling when so many doors are closing at the same time. I pray that things change for us all soon. Good luck to you and all of those still fighting the fight.
