Thread regarding Allstate Corp. layoffs

Allstate having company cars confiscated

Today I had two peers who had their company cars taken without notice or warning. Both picked up on hooks like they were being repo'd. Both persons couldn't remember if they had any personal items still in the vehicles. They just snuck in and swiped them. I get the cars are Allstate property but let's have a little professionalism here.

And I guess this answers the $20,000 question of us ever going back on the road unless we are going to be using our personal vehicles.

@1cvk Yes. I hear this from many people in the industry. I’m keeping my options open and expanding my network. I appreciate the heads up!

We have some really bitter shrews on this forum. “It has to be the company because it isn’t me” should be the company slogan. Bunch of lowlife losers. Grow up, you are embarrassing to the human race.

@1vlb Most likely not. Most of all aspects of claims for Allstate is going virtual and will eventually be based in India. Even property and auto inspections and adjusting will be India based.

And as a 17 year Allstater you have my condolences. You and the good people from National General ate about to experience a career pain and frustration that you can't possibly imagine. A few words of advice for you and your peers:

1) Don't believe a word Allstate management tells you. NOTHING!! These people are compulsive liars and con artists.

2) Be prepared to work 50-60 hours a week and weekends trying to meet purposeful impossible goals.

3) Expect to have your jobs threatened by management almost daily.

4) You will be told one thing and a month later it will be what they denied. Ask the 5000+ people laid iff during a global pandemic last year.

5) Prepare to do assessments and Tetris lije puzzles to "interview" and show your worth for the job you already held before Allstate.

Prayers to you and your peers! It is going to hurt and hurt badly.

I am coming from National General and currently have a company car. Will they be getting mine as well? Do they not expect that Allstate field reps will EVER go back into the field?

I want Glenn Shapiro to personally come and get this company car. In fact I am begging for this. Put that piece of human garbage to work actually doing something that doesn't destroy the company and people's livelihoods.

Agreed @CRT. If you sneak onto my private property without notice bad things can happen.

Why does Allstate turn something so simple into such a big deal? Remind your employee that the company car is going to be picked up with week, you know, in case you left any personal items in it ( like total loss process and co-part- sound familiar?). Please return key, mail back, etc.
No reason not to give a curtesy reminder (I know warning was sent out months ago) so people have a heads up and to avoid confusion, alarm and ruffled feathers. Almost like the difference between good customer service and S+!# customer service. Just Allstate pulling another Dick move.

@enh Where I'm from you make yourself known when you step on a man's private property. It is actually law here. Regardless if it is to retrieve company property (which I have no problem with). They are more than welcomed to come and get their car but they are going to make themselves known before they are allowed on my land. Accidents could happen otherwise.

Alternative title: Allstate retrieves company property that employees are no longer using.

You’ve known since August that it was going to happen and now you’re complaining that a stranger didn’t knock on your door during a pandemic to discuss it with you? Sheesh. Some of you will never be happy with anything anywhere.

I am sure the goons at the top had this planned and when to take the cars back. This was to be expected and no reason for us to have these cars if being hogtied in our homes. However again Allstate fails at communication so obviously some received the word about cars being picked up this week and others didn't. Further evidence of how unorganized these incompetent corporate clowns are. And how they have decided to make it a theatrical production to "repo" the company cars in the dead of night in some cases shows the mindset of these attention seeking sociopath buffoons from Wilson and Shapiro on down. Making a big production out of something simple.

And yes I still have the company car and I accidentally and mysteriously misplaced the keys since they were supposed to get the cars last fall. They will have to tow it away. So so sorry Allstate. And I as well have directed the shops to corporate if they have issues or concerns about our virtual processes that will open the door to 100% Patel handling in the not too distant future.

Yup. My gone too. Last notice I got was Aug 2020. Guess no road visits for us. LMAO that they sneak in at night like repo lije we going to fight it. That be fine. Let shops and customers argue with corp. Giving out Corp. Phone number to shops that complain about process. I don't make process. Its on them.

Saw this thread and I didn't receive any notices lately that they were picking my company car up. Something last summer if I recall. But just looked and it is gone. It was there two days ago last time I checked. Hey it it theirs to take but they could have at least knocked and said hello when they were taking it. Would have been the courteous thing to do. I would have offered them a fresh cup of coffee and one if the Mrs' homemade cinnamon rolls for getting their 2000 lb paperweight off my property 8 months late.

Our area didn't receive anything about them picking up the cars recently. I have the damn thing in a storage unit that Allstate is going to reimburse me in full for before they get the car. They should have picked them all up last year.

@ifg I don't know about the OP or his peers but I have received nothing about my company car. I remember the notice last year but nothing in the last few weeks. They can come and get it though. I want that trash heap out of my driveway

They’re shipping the cars to India lol!! Permanent home based workers as forks adjusters are no longer needed. Shops will
continue sending 80 photos and &10k supplements and we’ll counter with just paying $2k of their supplement requests so it’ll go back and forth until 10 supplements later we end up paying them everything they demanded and use up 30 days rental while the car still has another 4 weeks of repair time left lol.

There was a memo sent out about this specifically sometime last year. With dates, mileage requirements and other things.
