Thread regarding U.S. Bank layoffs

"One U.S. Bank" corporate mentality

The "One US Bank" corporate mentality is absolutely destroying the bank's fee business lines which must compete with the myriad of non bank disruptors, nimble fintechs and emerging competitors which do not have to act, operate or report like a bank, because they aren ' t a bank and the nature of the fee business lines is not banking at all.

I copied someone's post into a new thread because I absolutely agree with every word written but I would like to hear opposing views.

Yes, most big bank's corporate and commercial culture strive for unity, in my opinion U.S Bank has gone off the rails trying to achieve uniformity, particularly across all business lines, however not every bank and business customer or consumer comes or will ever come to one bank for all of their banking or financial services.

Many bank customers only use certain services from a bank for very legitimate reasons, preferring other banks for other services, particularly in the fee generation business lines, and to think otherwise is a one way ticket to one bland bank that is unapproachable, that nobody wants to utilize anymore and one which is last on the list for referrals, for start up businesses and last on the list for customer experiences. Reminiscent of Bank One, Union Planters, National City Corp., Wachovia, uniformity never has a very happy ending.
