Managers actually used to manage people as individuals. Each person had a salary plan based in his or her specific value and accomplishments. Some people waited 16 months for a raise while others could get two raises in a single year. That was when managers were allowed to care about employees. And remember when that changed, we got raises every March. Then it started moving out to save Ginni a few bucks in 1Q.
Keep in mind $30 is a lot for employees in some of the countries IBM now invests in. I think maybe the execs weren’t thinking, or didn’t care about the exchange rate and that US$30 is more of an insult than any kind of incentive for US employees

I'm a manager and have been sitting on mine. I think I got around $150 per employee. Been too embarrassed to dole it out. Waiting until after the May 1 raises to try and take some of the sting out of how small they are with a quick second spiff from this fund.

Manager here with 8 direct reports. Got 1500 to split between all. It’s so sad and embarrassing.
Stop complaining about $30 annual bonus - it is nothing to sneeze at. It is just over 8 cents per day! If you save those pennies for a whole month you can buy a small coffee somewhere!

@baa+1afSrkA0 AK announced it several months ago and there was no info presented on each manager just a total dollar figure they would be paying out. Looks like very little made it down to the bands below 10.
