Thread regarding Allstate Corp. layoffs

Lots of PTO - but nickle and dimed

Have you ever noticed how we are fortunate with extensive pto, until you are a minute late on a break or getting in and then 15 minutes are docked? Lots of pto is fortunate until it is docked and monitored in such a draconian manner.

I never noticed it until my partner pointed it out to me.

Yeah and they gave us all the emergency time but our claims dept has been told not to use it on Friday or Monday.

As if we can control when we or our children get sick

This company doesn’t see us as human

I am one of the most outspoken current employees on this board about Allstate's disgusting practices and unethical treatment of its employees and customers but I cannot concur on this one. We were all given over 60 hours for the year for "emergency time" or time to do with however we please. This given time to to reduce behavioral penalty for this but the company is correct in docking your PTO bank for not being logged in and available as your role requires. If it is that big of a deal to you then manage your time better. A lot of poorly behaved employees used these 60+ safe hours well before the end if first quarter. That is irresponsible and shows behavioral shortcomings, especially in working from home. In working from home there is zero excuse not to be back from lunch and break or logged in on time ready to start your day. I am most responsible and conscious of this and have only used 2 hours of these 60+ hours. This is all on you people and I cannot blame this horrid company one bit.

You ever notice how liberal people love to use the words Draconian or Austerity? I always found that rather fascinating.

This is exactly what a Union could of negotiated over. Without representation, get ready for even worse tactics as they drive American jobs to India in the hopes the American workers they have abused will quit before the next round of layoffs. Someday, Allstate India employees will rise up and get an international labor relations attorney or Union and fight for justice and better wages. Allstate India is being used by corporate giants like Allstate. Slave labor continues offshore. Time to unionize or continue to get abused. No matter what the naysayers say, Allstate front line workers would be much better off with a Union to fight for decent treatment. If nothing else it would be a great way to retaliate on the millionaires who have used us. They hate unions becomes unions fight for workers rights. We have no rights without a Union.
