I heard a rumor that Windstream will try to "claw back" some severance pay if the laid-off employee gets a new job during the severance period. Does anyone know if this is true? Has it happened to anyone?

Nah - that's bunk. My guess is BR is alive, and hopefully well. I considered him a friend in TWBG.
Oh and to boot at the next job on my network redesign i removed all of WS services. Represented about 750k in revenue lost for WS. GG
Nah got a 2 week notice of layoff. Got hired by next job on my last day at WS. No clawback. They paid me to go to a better place with double the pay.
What's the 'peep'? Inside joke?
The 'peep', was a g-dwho walked among us. He was the alpha and the omega, the beginning and the end, he was all things to many and nothing to a few. The 'peep' worked out of twinsburg and on his last day it is told he loaded new laptops into his truck as the IT Director watched from the foyer and made no effort to stop him. Rumor has it the total heist was around 10k american dollars. The peep received his calling and found his glory about 6 months later as he was battling a terminal disease and without his medical insurance lost the battle. So the 'peep' is a legend here in twinsburg, he beat TT at his own game. Long live the PEEP, his memory lives on today.

holy shit will you people ever shut up about the peep? nobody gives a fuck any more
Do what the 'peep' did, take 10k dollars in new laptops on your way out the door.
in NYS they had to pay me my accrued time in the past. I would check the HR manual and see how the wording is.
If you are being paid by your employer or former you cannot collect because you already have a source of income.
They witheld my vacation time. Hadnt used a single day and HR made up some excuse to keep it.....HR doesnt help the employees they are a corporate hit squad. We had another employee that didnt get any severance as they said in 2013 they had a company laptop stolen from their car, police report provided. Win HR said the severance was reimbursement for lost company property.
Not collecting unemployment during severance makes sense. But has anyone had Windstream try to grab back some of the severance if they got a new job?
The severance period here in NY was a one time payment based. The amount paid was based on your work history. After that runs out you could collect unemployment. You cannot collect severance and unemployment at the same time.
you mean to tell me that this software powerhouse that is raving in social media that they are constantly hiring...actually laid people off?!?!?!
