Thread regarding IBM layoffs

No truer words spoken

“It’s not what you know but who you know”. This is the absolute truth. I spent years at IBM and have been unemployed for a few months now. Luckily I ran into an old college buddy of mine and we met for drinks. Long story short - he offered me a position at his firm with no questions asked. I have to admit, it’s nice when for once something like this works in my favor.

Truer words. It was what I knew that led to who I knew.
Post retirement offers and drinks were met with a handshake and a "No thanks, I plan on fishing, playing with the grandkids, and doing what I want when I want. "
