Thread regarding Allstate Corp. layoffs

Outbound queue Auto techs

Any idea what's going on? I've heard so much misinformation about being classified as a home-based worker, company car status, if field will exist again, how the portal "drip" works, etc. Does anyone have any clear insight from leadership?

All aspects of claims including property and auto adjusting is headed for India. Surely you have heard about this. It has been known for some time. If you can do that from home they can do it from Pune. That is why they are setting it up this way and why they are not being transparent. The writing is on the wall. Wake up! Instead of being on here whining about trivial stuff that you are no longer in control of you should be updating the resume and applying at some of these other companies that you seem to be showing such high regard for. It is not guaranteed that we are going to be giving you severance.

Not a troll, only hoping for some consistency in messaging and wanted to compare notes with what others have been told.

I received a screen grab of the return request form for company vehicles from a former teammate now in another unit, last Friday but it said nothing concrete: if this was for everyone, some, or elective.

We got the email we are considered home-based workers, however even prior to COVID auto field employees were classified as HBW. The messaging we've received previously has highlighted that the "hybrid" classification means "home and office-based work" so a former auto field employee shouldn't have expected to be considered anything other than a home-based worker anyway.

I'm only trying to find out what others have heard because we've only received non-answers and assumptions in our group

This isn't the place to ask these questions. if you don't understand the future of your role talk to your manager or one of the resources they provided

There is no clear information. Keeps changing. Im a Field Auto guy. Was told I could go on the road soon and even got supplies a month ago as told. We are one of the only companies not letting Appraisers on the road. Its not about safety anymore unless you believe no other company cares about safety. Thats ok tell people to get a shop estimate and overpay or pay massive supplements because photo estimates cant be done accurately.

They did a good job communicating this clearly. And have you resources to contact with questions. And this is why people get laid off, they're re--rds
