Thread regarding Baker Hughes layoffs

It’s just one big mess

There was a time that a degree and experience, people skills, and character meant something. The proof of just how bad things are in the open job requisitions. When in the history of BHI did you ever recall reading a job requirement calling for an associates degree in Supply Chain management? They’ve diluted the talent pool. Pay attention - it’s happening across the board.
Managers selected because they are preferred. Not technical ability, not management skills, just a “yes” person to the other wannabe on top.
Then HR plays the same game. Biased, have no clue what’s going on in the workplace, and it’s just one big mess.

@xfd+1a69JArC explains it perfectly. This is why the performance and quality of work is down and why BH is failing in every aspect right now.

There was a managr at bits who would always put his name on patent applacations. He had nothing do do with the invention, just piggy backed to rack up his patents. What a jerk.

The 1st 3 letters in the word Associates pretty much sums what they will get when filling those jobs.

Cheap labor is plentiful these days and you would think HR & management would have enough sense to raise the bar by hiring qualified people with a 4 year degree.

Mark my words, if oil does not return to $70+ per Bbl. soon, this company will implode from within due to the high level of incompetence displayed throughout the organization.

I used to have a lot of fun with plagurists when I was working for Chemicals. I used to BCC the World when asked to provide ideas by e-mail. A lot of people made d*s of themselves by extolling the virtues of di-lithium crystals (quite a popular, but BS term from Star Trek). You need to have fun in these situations.

I’ve been told it’s a persons job to bring my ideas to leadership!

Too bad they put their own little spin on it.
And now the business is getting chopped up like salad. And the fools lost there chance to run things.

Stealing ideas is a general practice.

Thats especially true in Chemicals. Leaders would encourage their people by saying you don't need to know anything, you just need to know who you can ask then pretend its your idea. They compensate these type of people and punish those that have the courage to ask why. Sometimes I wonder this is really the greatest mockery of the American intelligence!
