Thread regarding ExxonMobil Corp. layoffs

Say you will take the PIL if you are NSIed now

Tell your supervisor ahead of ranking that you think you would take the PIL if you are NSIed. VPs know we are lean and instructing subordinates to encourage folks to take the PIP and it can be passed - the yes men won’t tell Dallas we can’t support a 8% reaping on top of all the resignations. Your supervisor can’t do anything now. Would love to see a whole Division stand up for itself and let management know that this mandate has consequences.

I get that the 45+ crowd has too much to loose, but if enough people stand together, management can’t say they haven’t been put on notice. If deeper cuts were needed, it should have been done in the layoff.

that's going to end up with you being in NSI. you already say you are ready to take the PIL, so easy decision.

only do this if you mean it - if you see it as mutually beneficial way out with no chance to return.

There's a little publicized other category that happened last July.
That was NSI - with no PiP offered. CSI - can't significantly improve.
A couple of hundred of these.
It was simply a Termination, which in Texas particularly is simple as pecan pie.

Bad advice.

Lololol this is the worst advice I’ve ever heard

That’s frankly dumb advice. The senior management won’t roll back anything unless it shows up in the metrics. Telling anyone you will PIL just contributes to the metrics but things haven’t gone to dogs yet. China has way higher attrition and it’s still 8% NSI. So just look for a new job bubby.

@zfx - that's true, but stepping up now and saying that you'd take the PIL is putting a target on your own back. It's telling your boss that you're already thinking of your exit from the company. Far better to stay quiet and keep your head down - it's too late to start brown nosing to save your job.

Are you Tracy G. or one of her subordinates?

Wrong. If they didn’t want to fire people they would have set the NSI target lower. As a supervisor if you tell me this it just indicates to me you self identify as a low performer.

“T ell your supervisor ahead of ranking that you think you would take the PIL if you are NSIed. ” wow that is terrible advice. If you say this you deserve to be PIP’d. What a clown.
