If you are in IoTg, start looking. Reorg coming up. PG and TL in discussions why IoTg is more on the loss side for more than 3 quarters. Watch upcoming qrtr'ly and run. Same for PSG. IAGs got an exception to put out PVC and get traction till end of 2022.

I moved from Qualcomm to intel one year ago and am happy. Better pay, more responsibility, more opportunities to drive change at scale.
The hours are gruelling though :)

Ireland has union. so it is hard to fire those inefficient folks
but in US, those could serve with pink letter anytime
having said that, I think for the company to be successful, it needs a bold decision
whatever wrong decision, bad leaders in the past. It has to be fixed and those ppl that could adapt will survive.
those GPTW b—s— should be gone, a lot of catch-up to do. Honeymoon days and cash cow are no more

I’m from the US, but I think Ireland is different based on Skype calls. Were you able to talk to people reporting to the hiring manager or others in the organization about the roles?

Thanks for your inputs everyone. From what I have read in Blind and here seems joining Intel now would be a bad idea. Intel provides wlb but not much when it comes to learning and growth, as for qcom with every new project I'm learning new things and I'm giving more responsibilities as I grow in my role but I'm not happy with the current salary and wlb is bad. Fyi this is in Ireland not USA

You asked this on an Intel layoff board so I'm going to give you the answer you're expecting:

DON'T JOIN INTEL

It all boils down to your own area of work, opportunity you are getting, culture of company and type of manager. You can be in QC and be very unhappy and be a Intel and very happy or vice versa. I worked for Intel decades and was unhappy, just stayed there for my stock options etc. Hated the ranking and rating, but always survived. Have been happier with the culture of another company. Never going back to Intel

If you’re in San Diego don’t leave.

It’s hard to downgrade to the Bay Area or Portland or even Austin.

Also, Intel has a bad reputation and you may want to wait until they get their sht together (if ever)

Change is always good. If intel makes you a good offer , which I believe they will, consider joining .
