Thread regarding Intel Corp. layoffs

Name one thing

You have to be realistic, there is no ideal company. I changed a few companies before I came to Intel and I was missing something in each. In one the atmosphere was great, but the pay was a real disappointment. In another I had good health insurance, but the atmosphere was more than toxic. Intel also has lots of both, good and bad sides. If you could name just one thing that you would like to change, what would it be?

Mediocre people stay and complain.
Good people leave.

This is why Intel is failing hard.

whether Intel is good or not, it does not matter
what matter is whether are you good enough and is the offer attractive to you?

@3liu that’s just trash talk! Any 3+ years college grad can jump ship easily. Most ppl are not like them, do your research!

Microsoft, Nvidia, Apple and others are in PDX.
Austin is thriving with semi companies.
The Bay Area needs no comment.

Really, you’re making excuses if you say you can’t move. Good folks can even work remotely out of Montana if they wish.

Up-level your skills and take ownership of your career or stop complaining about things you can’t control (Intel exes shuffles and Corp policy).

People don't like to move to new area because they have families. It is not that easy to move and you are attached to where you live. Intel is benefiting from it.

If Intel is so bad and pays so poorly, why do you stay there? There are plenty of other companies.

You must be such a low quality engineer that your only option is Intel.

With Intel pay, what are you expecting?Of course, none has moral to work and perform well. We are getting a dollar and VPs are getting everything. More speeches from VPs than looking at the real issue.

@1vml+1aaq5XVX: who are you to judge “poor” performance? Rhetorical question.

That’s true. While big companies are making huge bucks, first line workers toil with a paycheck that is a drop in the bucket. Further bean counting reduces benefit even further! If pay is bad, reduce the work load for sanity’s sake. Since they are not paying double for thrice the work! If there is one thing to change is improving pay and morale for first line workers, reduce pay for so many SVP’s and PE’s! Hope amazon unionizes soon as giant companies are avoiding taxes and reducing pay!!

Having them expect me to work for my paycheck. This is so abusive on their part.
