Thread regarding Imperial Oil Limited layoffs

80% of Controllers hate working here and 50% actively job hunting

The majority of folks are looking for another job and wishing they worked elsewhere. This is going to start impacting productivity and willingness to work extra hours. Controllers is the worst!

Management is stuck with 80s mentality, ruling by fear and lacking any real empathy. Fear is not respect, when pushed too far folks who are fearful react strongly by walking out.

No you can not preach that you care and yet dump insane amount of mainly meaningless work on people.
Controllers management if you really care then do something about the ridiculous hours, stop asking endless extra questions that generate weeks of work.

Tell us the truth about how many of us you plan to lay off. The culture has become unbearable and we are at breaking point. The mental and physical stress that you continue to cause is immoral. And do not force us back into the office, this will just result in more people walking out and if they stay it'll be for the paycheck only until something else lines up .

I totally agree. The entire finance function management, including internal audit, discriminate against visible minorities. The priviledge class are promoted way beyond their capabilities and competancies. Some in senior positions do not understand basic accounting concepts, yet their pay and compensation will totally shock you. This blatant discrimination does not seem to be abating but is gathering momentum. It seems as though the end is near.

“ as far i am aware Exxon remains in control of IOL” doesn’t sound like something an IOL employee would say. Sounds like it was written by a BTC wannabe

“Controllers” or operations management don’t care about your post. Also no one calls them controllers in Canada. That’s a term they use in the south.

Actually NO. This was written here first, I am IOL and as far i am aware Exxon remains in control of IOL so I copied it there too. Look at time stamp. Dont matter where its was written first, Controllers management needs to read this.

Controller's is indeed toxic. Just look at all the white guys at the top - minorities don't stand a chance to get to those positions. The department is much worse compared to other IOL departments. Stay away if you can.
