IBM accused of stealing server OS source code, breaking antitrust law

I wonder what product Big Bleu allegedly used this source code in?

Just for once, IBM is not the bad guy here.

You really need to check out the long and tortured history of this lawsuit, but basically it's about a company that invested heavily in Unix, was made irrelevant by the rise of Linux, and decided to litigate instead of innovate. And of course they went after the target with the deepest pockets, which at the time was IBM.

The company that originally started the lawsuit went out of business a couple of decades ago, but the IP - and with it, the legal claims - have been picked up by a succession of bottom feeding lawyers hoping for a payout, or at least "f— off" money to make the nuisance go away. The thing is, if IBM didn't settle back when Linux was just taking off, it certainly isn't going to now that Linux is the centerpiece of its platform strategy.

Nobody is getting paid here, except the lawyers.
