Thread regarding Barnes & Noble layoffs

Is there anyone from corporate who can explain exactly what the "restructuring plan" is?

It's got to be a huge joke because I see my store in chaos, nothing getting done, they can't keep the new hires because it's an awful place to work now, the place is a mess, and the only full-timers left are getting yelled at all the time and told to do everything but what they were hired to do.

We're losing a sh*tload of money each week and I personally don't think anyone cares. I think tthe plan is to go bankrupt.

Also any thoughts from you other full-timers who have survived this disaster?

Some people are getting the raises while others are not. Seems typical of such a sleazy company.

I knew it !
This one foot into bankruptcy company wasn’t shelling out $2 raises !

Bookseller, lead bookseller, expert bookseller, assistant store manager, store manager. 2 percent raises a year after a review and a two dollar raise for every promotion. Department managers are essentially expert booksellers now and are given store keys.

They're never going to pay you to leave, those days are long gone!

I love how all the comments are being signed now, especially the stupid managers who have stayed.
