At this point, being laid off could be considered a favor. I haven't been happy here for a long time. Everything that was once good about this place has changed to the point of unrecognizable. Now we have a toxic work environment that punishes hard work. Right now, getting paid to get out of this mess sounds like a good thing.

After almost 15 years with Anthem, I woke up one morning in February and thought to myself "I just can't do this anymore..." 4 hours later, I was on a Teams meeting with my RVP and HR and was RIFd (along with most of my team). The 2 people left were given the option to take on more work for less money or leave w/o severance.
I did receive 6 months pay and benefits. I wasn't quite ready to retire, but halfway through the severance realized retirement is probably the best outcome. So, be hopeful - maybe you will be RIF'd!
SAME!
Couldn't agree more. I just turn up until something better comes by way.
