Thread regarding Barnes & Noble layoffs

They want you to feel especially grateful if you are a full timer?

I think now if you're full-time, they know they can torture you and use you because you're not going anywhere.

OMG, this is so true. I often hate being a full timer. It’s an invite to treat you even worse because, c’mon, in their opinion if you want to be a full timer it requires a lot of sacrifice. I feel so much pressure sometimes because it’s like I have to be especially grateful for it all the time.

If you can't go anywhere, it's most likely because you're overpaid for what you do and can't find comparable work anywhere else. You should be grateful.

This is all on you. No sympathy at all. If being a full timer is such a bad deal then become a part timer. Otherwise, do your job and deal with it.
