Thread regarding Mattel Inc. layoffs

Mattel: Reported Net Loss of $115 million, an improvement of $96 million

The Spin Doctors are working hard to mask Mattel's mouldy smell:

Ynon Kreiz, Chairman and CEO of Mattel said: “This was another record quarter for the company, with truly exceptional results reflecting the success of the turnaround, as we continue to drive transformational improvements and acceleration in our business.

BTW isn't Ynon in the 50+ group who should be offered a package?

Heres the problem with this methodology and if any of the higher ups are reading this from their ivory tower take note:

You o' fearful leaders are out of touch with consumers. You need a balance of older seasoned workers in middle management who understand the cyclical trends in toys mixed with younger talent that can be mentored are nutured to take the helm when its their time. They should be given leeway to experiment without being held back by an older employ who's afraid of being pushed out because of an upstart because when that happens, the upstart gets lost, crushed by the reality of manufacturing and cost reduction and needs the support base to allow them to grow into the next generation of powerhouse designers.

Learn from your mistakes. Right the ship already. a $21 stock price is nothing to brag about. when you can start paying dividends again then you can brag. until then shut up and fix the problems.

Asking someone to volunteer, and setting parameters of whom to ask like meeting BOTH 10+ years of service and 50+ in age isn’t ageism......not even a little bit.

Why aren’t they worried about being sued for ageism? 50+ sounds like discrimination

I mean - it is a pretty impressive improvement for one year, all things considered.

Just sayin'.

Relax little one - the package was only offered to sr directors and below. So no, he really shouldn’t, though I’m sure that was strategic.

Idk why anyone wouldn’t take it. Risking layoff without a retirement package sounds pathetic frankly.
