As I've said here before, Anthem has a monthly RIF day; it's the fourth Thursday of the month. They have been riffing on this day every single month since at least October 2020.
Sometimes it's someone you know, sometimes it isn't -- but you can trust that somewhere in the org, people are being handed their walking papers on that Thursday.
If you paid attention to internal communicatiosn (which weren't even quiet -- just massaged a lot by the comms department before release to seem innocuous and result in everyone skimming over the headlines) several months ago, you might have even caught wind that they intend to lay off at least monthly through Q3. No one should feel safe.
