May I ask, how many days in advance was you given notice for your layoff ? Anyone who could assist with this post it’ll go a long way. Ohio is certainly not in a position to keep anyone, come January 22, 2022 (it’s a wrap) . We are only existing to service the contract we’re in now and many are just waiting for the hammer! Also how do they determine your severance? How long will they pay for Cobra? And if you get Severance are you able to collect unemployment? I also know management was asking about there top four performers and the least 4 performers in the departments, a few months back. Was this a sign of the “covert layoff list”? Unless a magic wand is waived Centene will not get themselves out of this Quandary, karma is a bi--h. Also is it true that you’ve noticed age discrimination, Ada discrimination, Tenure individuals getting laid off when they are more qualified ? Thank you for your responses in advance.
Florida will only have a large presence due to keeping local offices for selling Medicare/Medicaid plans to existing providers and attempting to recruit new providers to their plans, as the current Florida footprint is quite extensive. As far as other business, i.e., claims, config, IT, HR, system integration, etc., that will all be merging (going away) with existing Centene systems.
It doesn't appear FL is closing. You need to look at where the open positions are; NC, FL, OK. OK is because they are getting ready to stand up a Medicaid health plan. NC will be the new headquarters and it looks like they want to keep a large presence in FL. In contrast look at how low the openings are in STL (the "headquarters") and elsewhere. You have to read between the lines in this playbook.
If they close shop in Tampa by September, when do you think employees in Tampa would be notified? June, July or August?
If they close shop in Tampa by September when would employees in Tampa be notified about this?
NC fully completed fall 2022. They will have ppl working and transitioning while under construction.
I found they can close shop in Tampa by September. It’s a huge lift to shift it and other operations and remain effective.
Does anyone know how close to complete the NC offices are? I’ve heard they have a lot of new tech there.
At least for me it doesn’t matter. I’ll give up my role to not uproot my family. They can pound sand.
Back in the day, we would have gone on strike. we should plan a day for a company wide sick-out, see how the senior management gets by without any of us peons for the day.
Hopefully Mr. Do Nothing in Tampa will be laid off! He is at it again today "gaming the system" by taking a 2 hour lunch.
If history repeats itself, there will definitely be another round after the deal is closed with Magellan.
Well even though Q1 results are good, all job openings are on hold. There definitely a lot cooking for June. Fingers crossed 🤞
Next month (June).
I heard from this board that all of Tampa will be laid off because headquarters will be shifting in September to North Carolina. If that is true then it makes sense that it will happen in June/July...so we will see...
Is the June/July wave similar to March where it’s across the enterprise or is it more targeted to specific areas, departments, markets ?
