What is next for Gateshead?

During the last twelve months Gateshead has seen four lots of redundancies.

The ship can't take much more Captain.

Quick tab packet calculation.

Over 15% of the workforce including office are connected either by family or through companies people have worked with.

Majority is family.

Management still silent?
Gaffers still clueless?
Labourers still above their station?
Olive oil still prancing about like she knows best?

Unlucky shop floor, you're on borrowed time. Whilst we flood local factories with work, you're getting nothing. As long as the numbers look good and Bin Diesel keeps up with his animal fetish the office is safe.

Stop changing the subject, this is about gateshead but more importantly the legacy that has s now been ruined. If you take closer look certain people are hanging onto the Anson title. The reasoning is because it carried weight and companies had faith in the quality of product supplied. That has gone but yet you have mangers and directors using the Anson brand in their email signature. Absolute disgrace and how some of them look in the mirror should be embarrassing but they don't care as long as the bumper salary is paid every month. Unfortunately gateshead is marked for shut down, let's see who moves to Kintore Scotland for positions kept open. Then you will find your traitorous office staff. Ask questions of the management and engineering manager, director, product manger. Send a question to hr and plant manger. They have to respond to the workforce is we ask respectively. Ask, question, wait and then reach out as it is becoming a joke.

Don't see the problem here, should be congratulating the bloke. I'd rawdog that sh-t so hard (with permission) the bloke to pull me out would be crowned King Arthur.

Some were made redundant because they couldn’t bear working there anymore and couldn’t wait to get out .... just saying 😉

Some people need to grow up. You got made redundant because you are the weakest link in the chain. Move on with your life and forget NOV we have already forgot about you.

Sorry bit late to the party.

That’s the Gateshead way eh being late right

20th May was National Human Resources Day

Did we all spare a thought for the hardship our HR are going through.

I know I did, the same way “they” thought of us.

Management can do nothing. If two people want to get together then so be it. It’s when I compromises the business that’s when management and HR will get involved.

The consultant plant manager we had was the best I’ve seen. I forget his name. But he did some really good work before handing over to the hands of incompetency.

Parachute him back before complete the inevitable happens. It’s the only small hope we have.

Average life cycle of a plant manager so for since NOV buying us is averaging 2 to 3 years.

Sub contracting the machine shop / fab shop / design to non O&G would benefit the site. Other companies are doing that with huge success.

O&G is on the decline more so now. Sales need to step up and sell our skills and machine shop capacity.

Those who recruit plant managers and direct the sales force are answerable.
