Hearing that the MN location could close. Will all offices shift to Toronto w/ everyone else working remote?

It would make too much sense for TR to let its Eagan work force, for the most part, work from home. It would save a load of money, but there have to be little Indians strutting around for the big six-figure salaries to feel important.(Not intended to offend indigenous people, it’s just an American phrase)
Carrollton office once had 2k+ people. After all the cuts, pre-pandemic it was easily under 1k. With all the recent departures from that office I'm willing to say it's close to being on the chopping block. It can easily happen in Eagan as well one day office is full the next, not so much.
There are more than 2,000 people at the Eagan campus. I think overall the TR U.S. employee presence will greatly decrease and more jobs will go to lower cost areas excluding editorial jobs and such that require attorneys. This is nothing new to Eagan as outsourcing and layoffs happen yearly but this time it should be much more significant.
Re the plant, would they ever consider selling it (or spinning it off) and leasing back whatever portion of the capacity we currently use?
Seems like the sort of transaction these McKinsey types do for sport.
Can't imagine they'd close the plant.
I’m in MSP. Used to work in the Eagan office but ever since pandemic, we all are working from home. We are wondering why the office would reopen to such an extent if its cheaper for TR to convert everyone to work from home.
I doubt it. There are more than 2,000 employees here, many with editorial training. It may become more of a back office with AM retiring, PF leaving when he doesn’t get the gig permanently and MD left to manage Westlaw operations until they complete the product’s move to Toronto. It’ll all take at least 5 years and who knows what will happen by then; company can be broken up and segments spun off for all we know. The location will certainly get older, more obsolete and less attractive to younger talent.
Well, I'm wishing hard that our office will close but, I highly doubt it. I am surprised to hear that the Eagan office could possibly close as its one of our biggest offices in NA, I think.
Yes, know lot of people in MN looking to convert to WFH perm or other jobs at other companies
