Thread regarding Anthem Inc. layoffs

Experiences after layoff?

I'm happy I got laid off. I thought I would never say that, but since I got laid off here, I’ve never been happier. Great relief. No more stress, no more overload, there is no more toxic manager who is always ready to ruin someone's day.
I didn't agree to the first good option just to have a job again as soon as possible, but I waited a bit for things to settle down and rested. I am now in a company where everything is much more relaxed and where I have an even higher salary and better benefits.
I hope there are many more experiences similar to mine.

Life after Fail (Gail) Sh*t Show is great! I'm still on unemployment but the market is definitely getting better! The way to stay OK is to keep busy and make getting the new job your job. There are many state and local agencies offering assistance, family, friends, other contacts all ready to help. Maybe avoid healthcare insurance companies? From what I hear from contacts at Carefirst, UHC etc. they're all the same. While the insurance side typically does pay well, the psychopath and sociopath percentage seems unusually high.

Good luck to all!

The job market thankfully is moving again and companies are hiring. It’s tough after a rif. You feel left behind, betrayed, and kicked to the curb. Failure. But it’s not. It’s business. They will forget about you and you should do the same. Take a few days. Sleep in. Then get your a-s in gear and refined your resume. Apply. Apply. Apply. Network. Network. Network. It’s exhausting. But you need to do it to get to the next chapter.
