The company seems very very serious about D&I now. So my question is (and I’m afraid to ask HR), if I go home today Friday as “Harry”, and return to the office Monday morning as “Harrietta” (in a dress) am I going to be ignored? Or will this impact my career, rating, etc?

Do this and you will likely be promoted. For extra points put a rainbow flag up at your desk.
Don’t forget that you gotta flex your privilege by taking an extended leave of absence, going on an extravagant hiking journey, then spending company money and time to record a video about it to seem inspirational but end up just looking like a di-k.
Take a cue from some of the most incompetent workers at COP and claim some sort of bogus mental distress. Get lots of time off, lecture others about how stressed you are so you can’t work, organize pop psychology BS “wellness” meetings, and you’ll go far!
COP can't even handle treating minorities or women fairly or for equal pay. So, if you left as Harry and showed up as Harrietta, you would lose ground in your career. You would be better off leaving on a Friday as Henrietta and showing up Monday as Harry. In fact in that case you would probably get a 20% raise
I don't even know what "D&I" means... d-mb and incompetent, disoriented and intoxicated, dominating and intimidating?
Good question!
The only virtue signaling I want to see from this company is positive YOY earnings growth.
Serious Question: please tell me what this has to do with the value creation of exploration and production? Asking as a shareholder.
Someone is channeling P.T. Barnum...
Note to self- sell remaining COP shares ASAP.
WT$!
If this were a serious question, you would ask family, friends, psychologist (COP has some), etc. - not post it on a public layoff board.
Get to work and stop writing this rubbish.
I once showed up as a competent employee but I was berated by management, shunned by coworkers, and mocked by junior employees. So now I’m back to identifying as a typical, apathetic COP employee who watches the clock all day and keeps feelers out for a better job.
The only people that think this company is serious about D&I are scared, delicate, white males who view the discussion as a personal threat to them and their career.
It will be fine. You’ll be accepted as long as you are consistent. So shave your legs and face, and speak in a higher pitch if you have a deep voice. I speak from experience. I once showed up as a German Shepherd, and nobody had any issues until I started wearing a Poodle style cut.
🤣
Talk to your supervisor in advance so you are covered from harassment. Most of the dinosaurs have been layed off in the last five years, but some still remain. And you’re probably going to have gossip issues in health and fitness.
Assuming this is a serious question, the first people I would talk to are the employee helpline group, who would likely have guidance and information about employees who have transitioned. I would read actively about people who have stories to tell about transitioning during employment, their challenges, stumbles and paths to acceptance.
Assuming that you are someone in good standing with your immediate work team, I would think that preparing them for your transition would be prudent: you may encounter more support and encouragement than you expect. Good luck.
I doubt very seriously you’ll be ignored, people WILL talk. As much as I despise many flaws at our company, I do honestly believe this would not have any impact on your career or performance rating as long as you’re able to continue performing and at least meeting expectations. Best wishes and keep in mind that there are plenty of people here who would support your personal decision.
