I came from a company where I never once worried about layoffs. Granted it was a small company but it doesn’t change that fact. I left to join Centene because I wanted to progress in my career. Biggest mistake I’ve ever made. I did not expect that I would need to forgo job security as a given and that worrying about my job will become a fact of my daily life. I would trade the pay increase I received when I switched companies in a heartbeat if it meant that I could once again relax when I get home instead of worrying if another round of layoffs was going to leave me without my income.
