Thread regarding ExxonMobil Corp. layoffs

Back to the office

Companies can make whatever excuses they want for not keeping remote/hybrid models at work, but it comes down to one thing...they're unwilling to change how they manage. If being in-person is what builds trust at your workplace, that isn't trust; that's control.

I like working in the office. Some can thrive at home. Why not let them keep doing it? Valuable employees will leave for companies more willing to adapt.

I saw more resignations than I expected to see today. People are moving on to better job fits. Good for them.

Love that the person below me is telling OP to quit complaining that they can’t work from there vacation home and I am getting a VRBO advertisement right above their comment on this page.

Stop complaining that you can’t work from your vacation home that your job enabled you to afford

Seriously you should quit, stop complaining on here and find another job. XOM is being very open at what its going to look like, this isn't some bait and switch. Nobody will miss you if you leave, nor will they care if you stay - that goes for just about everyone posting on here.

It’s funny because remote work was one of the best morale boosters, if not the only morale booster left
