Thread regarding Barnes & Noble layoffs

Huge Fights and Scandal as Failing Barnes & Noble Prepares to Close Down Forever

As most stores have gone through the tumultous restructuring, employees are being abused more than ever. Our store has a skeleton crew and we're all burned out. There is a revolving door of new hires as they all learn that this is a horrible company that's horribly run. And guess who has to pick up the slack? We do. The managers are all screaming at us, but things have changed there- we scream back now!

No one has any respect for anyone in management and why would we? The company doesn't care about anything but the tanking sales! They won't even give us time off for vacations or when we're really sick, which is illegal and I'm waiting for someone to go to a lawyer about this soon.
I swear some people hear are secretly praying we get laid off or close permantly so we can finally get a real rest from this abuse and insanity.

It's really tough to find new employment that will give us the pay and benefits we're getting nowI so most of us have pushed off that ordeal. I only hope everyone reads this so the public knows how badly we're all being treated. It's sure a far cry from what this company used to be, a shame really, and I pity anyone else who has to work in this kind of environment.

As far as I'm concerned, James Daunt proved he is the worse thing for this company. He should've cleaned house and replaced all upper management!

Looks like people really hate this company. Glad I don't work there and I'll tell everyone else to avoid the place too! No one should be shopping at such an abusive company!

I worked there a little over a week. Got hired part time. I was told I’d get 20 hours a week.
First week & upcoming weeks’s schedule had me at 8 hrs first week and 6 the next. Wasn’t worth my time. I come on here because several Booksellers were talking about it. Glad I didn’t stay. Got hired at Walmart. Working 30 plus hours a week.

Someone just told me about this page on Facebook and it it AWESOME. I've already learned so much about this bad company that I didn't know. I'm only going to stay at my store temporarily until I find a real job with good management that treats people like humans. Then it, adios, suckers, have fun at unemployment!

Daunt didn't get rid of the truly evil regional and store managers! And we all know who they are!

EXAPNDING WHAT?!! Our store has been eliminating postitions for the last 2 years. Lots of changes.
And If I say where it is they'll knock the post off this page. They don't want you mentioning names or locations or THE TRUTH!

Maybe your store manager is slow.

I like how you titled this like it’s a real headline and not just a bunch of sh-t you made up. where in gods name are you working that isn’t allowing sick time? also what restructuring? Literally no stores have restructured yet, they JUST had the meetings about it and it mostly involves EXPANDING available positions. stop talking out your a-s.
